Join us for an evening of celebration set on the historic lawns of Belle Haven supporting the City Schoolyard Garden for the second year!

Our next configuration is in support of the City Schoolyard Garden on Sunday, June 16th with Richmond Chefs and Restauranteurs, Joe Sparatta of Heritage and Owen Lane of the Magpie. Reception begins at 5:00 with inspired craft beers from Hardywood and passed canapés in the gorgeous and historic gardens of Belle Haven in Scottsville, with dinner seated outdoors beside the barn. A family-style dinner will be paired with wines from King Family Vineyards. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased here. Please email regarding questions or dietary restrictions.

Dean Maupin and Pollak Vineyards at the Old Metropolitan Hall

A four course dinner from chef Dean Maupin of C&O Restaurant, paired with wines from Pollak Vineyards. The dinner was in collaboration with Beyond the Flavor, which is a Charlottesville-based website filled with photographs and information about local food, farming, and chefs. Hill & Holler and Friends Celebrate Cider Week

An evening with top Virginia chefs and cidermakers celebrating Virginia Cider Week. Jason Alley of Richmond’s Pasture and Comfort restaurants, Lee Gregory from The Roosevelt and Angelo Vangelopoulos from the Ivy Inn served inventive dishes. Cidermakers from Albemarle Ciderworks, Foggy Ridge Cider and Potter’s Craft Cider poured their blends. Heirloom apple experts Tom Burford and Cider Week Scholar in Residence, Gary Nabhan were on hand to share apple lore. Members of Love Canon played bluegrass tunes, and this event benefitted the Southern Foodways Alliance.

 

Close and Hart at Barboursville Vineyards

A dinner in the vineyards at Barboursville with husband and wife chef duo Melissa Close of Palladio and Matthew Hart of The Local, in support of the Scottsville Center of Art & Nature.

 

Taste of Nelson at Oak Ridge Estate

A celebration of all things grown, brewed, and made in Nelson County, VA in support of the Nelson County Pantry. A six-course dinner prepared by six talented local chefs, each creating a course sourced exclusively from within Nelson County. Chefs included Ben Thompson from the Rock Barn; Ellen English, private chef; James Harris of Zynodoa; Tucker Yoder of the Clifton Inn; Angelo Vangelopoulos of the Ivy Inn; Claudia Gibson catering.

 

Christian Kelly and Cardinal Point Winery at Bellair Farm

A four-course meal from chef Christian Kelly of Maya restaurant, paired with wines from Cardinal Point Winery. The dinner benefited Slow Food, Albemarle Piedmont, which is organized by volunteer leaders who carry out the Slow Food mission in their communities. Sunday, June 24th, 2012

 

Gay Beery and Jefferson Vineyards at Morven Farm

The setting was Morven Farm, and the dinner benefited the City Schoolyard Garden at Buford Middle School in Charlottesville. The chef of honor was Gay Beery of A Pimento Catering, whose four-course dinner was served with wines from neighboring Jefferson Vineyards. Sunday, May 27th, 2012

 

Gabriele Rausse and Tucker Yoder at Bellair Farm

The second configuration of our farm dinner series, set at Bellair Farm located in the bottoms of Carter's Mountain and in support of The Local Food Hub. Lee Gregory at Blenheim Vineyards

The inaugural Hill & Holler roving farm dinner - uniting farmers, chefs, and community eaters - took place outdoors at Blenheim Vineyards in Charlottesville, October 2011. A four-course dinner, created by Chef Lee Gregory of Richmond restaurant The Roosevelt, each course paired with a Blenheim wine, to support the UVA Food Collaborative.
